BOC candidates are expected to thoroughly prepare for their exams. We want you to take the time you need to get yourself ready – which is why you may complete your exams anytime within three years after your application date.

We know our candidates are often running on tight schedules – and tight budgets, too. Most of our practitioners are in offices with five or fewer staff members. Some are running their practice independently. We understand that committing time and money for something that you might not benefit from for months (or possibly years) can add more stress to your already-demanding role.

That is why your BOC certification fees can be paid as each service is rendered. When you submit your application, the only fee that is required for BOC to begin processing is your certification program’s application fee. You won’t need to pay the remaining examination fee(s) for your program until you are ready to take the exam(s).

Full payments are welcome, but if you need a flexible payment schedule, BOC wants you to know that helpful options are available.

The following guidelines will help make the application process as smooth-running as possible for you:

• The application fee, and only that fee, is due with your initial application.
  • The application cannot be processed without the accompanying fee.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
• Each exam fee is due in full by its respective application deadline. Please be advised that you cannot take the exam until payment for the entire exam process is received in full.
• If you wish to pay for your exams after submitting your application, please be sure that a copy of the application accompanies additional payments.
