If you have at least two years experience as a BOC-certified professional, we offer a variety of volunteer opportunities that can broaden your outlook, improve your knowledge base, and help you move forward in your career.

As a BOC certificant, you can give back to your profession in ways that help to ensure that we will grow ever stronger as an advocate for you and the patients you serve. At the same time, you’ll earn continuing education credits by serving on one of the following committees:

Video Review Committee

Video Reviewers are responsible for evaluating the Video Practical Examination (VPE) criteria, monitoring exams, and evaluating results to ensure that the VPE is continuously providing a sound testing mechanism for candidates.

Ethics Committee

Members of the Ethics Committee review cases involving facility accreditation and individual certification, helping to resolve issues in a way that inspires confidence in our profession.

Test Development Committees

Each practice area has its own Test Development Committee, and the members of these committees serve as item writers for the exams. The Education Committee and the Test Development Committees provide support to AMP, our test provider, in producing job practice analysis, which is performed every five years.

Volunteers who help to keep BOC strong are more than just appreciated. They’re recognized as vital to the continued well-being of the organization and to our profession. For that reason, BOC offers continuing education credits for your participation, with the number of credits offered varying by the particular volunteer opportunity.
