The Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC), founded in 1984, is an independent, not-for-profit agency dedicated to meeting the demands for quality patient care by offering highly valued credentials for practitioners and suppliers of comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) care and durable medical equipment (DME) services.

Exam Scheduling

To become an eligible exam candidate, you must submit your application (including all required documentation) to BOC. For more information, review our certification programs.

Scheduling Your Exam

Once you receive notification from BOC that you qualify to take the certification exam(s), you can schedule your multiple-choice exam and/or clinical simulation exam with our test facilitator, AMP. Your notification letter will include instructions on contacting AMP to let them know your preferred testing location and your preferred testing date. Candidates taking the multiple-choice exam no longer have to wait for an exam window.

Locate Your Nearest Testing Center

Exams are given at H&R Block locations, with over 120 testing sites available nationwide. To locate your nearest testing location:

  1. Visit AMP's Candidate Information site
  2. Select “healthcare” as the category
  3. Select Board of Certification/Accreditation, International as your program
  4. Select the exam you would like to take
  5. When the webpage reloads, a navigation menu will appear on the right-side of the screen
  6. Select “locate testing centers”
  7. Use the interactive map or search by zip code to find locations near you.

Note: To reserve your exam preferences, contact AMP at least four business days prior to your preferred date. Some exam locations fill up quickly, so please register early.

For Orthotist and Prosthetist Certification Candidates

If you are a candidate for the Orthotist or Prosthetist exam, you will need to independently complete and submit a Video Practical Exam (VPE).
