BOC staff and practitioners joined the American O&P Association (AOPA) and other members of the O&P Alliance at the AOPA Policy Forum in March. As a result of organized meetings on Capitol Hill and AOPA’s great work, 35 members of the House of Representatives signed on to a letter from Representatives Duckworth (D-IL) and Guthrie (R-KY) to HHS Secretary Sebelius calling for a refinement of Medicare audit procedures.
BOC practitioners in attendance at the AOPA Policy Forum who met with their state representatives included: Justin Hobbs, BOCO; John Tyo, BOCP, CP; and Dennis Williams, CO, BOCO. BOC was represented by Jeff Price, Director of Operations, and Zack Chait, Accreditation Survey & External Relations Coordinator, who had the opportunity to meet with Representatives of the State of Maryland. BOC was also represented by attendees Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, President & CEO, and Lisa Bond, Special Projects Coordinator.
