BOC Rolls Out Time-Saving Features for
Candidates and Practitioners
OWINGS MILLS, Md.— To benefit candidates and practitioners, time-saving updates, including immediate certification exam scoring, year-round testing, and added website features, have been announced by the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC).
“We are continually looking for ways to make the certification process more convenient for our candidates and practitioners,” Jan paul Miller, MA, MEd, BOC’s Director of Certification, said. “With these updates, BOC puts the power at their fingertips.”
Beginning Nov. 1, candidates taking BOC certification tests will receive instant results for multiple-choice examinations, eliminating the wait time.
BOC also will start administering these exams year round and at more convenient times — including Mondays through Fridays and some Saturdays. Previously, candidates could take multiple-choice exams only during four exam windows throughout the year.
In addition, my.bocusa.org now offers options for practitioners to:
- verify and edit their contact information;
- view their current CEU records;
- view their list of current certification categories and apply for new certifications;
- print a duplicate copy of their certificates;
- check renewal payment due dates and pay fees on the secured site; and
- access BOC’s directory of practitioners, powered by Google Maps.
BOC recently announced these new features at the 2011 American Orthotic Prosthetic Association’s National Assembly in Las Vegas to an enthusiastic audience. President and CEO Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, who represented BOC at the event, said, “Our hope is that candidates and practitioners will have more time to do what they do best — provide excellent patient care.”
Since 1984, The Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC) has provided credentials demonstrating the competence and proficiency of OP&P professionals. BOC offers NCCA-accredited certification programs in five disciplines: orthotics, prosthetics, pedorthics, orthotic fitting, and mastectomy fitting. BOC’s facility accreditation program partners with DMEPOS suppliers to meet standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and improve business practices. BOC credentials celebrate and recognize the competence, professionalism, and safe practice environments of BOC-related practitioners and BOC-accredited facilities.
