Opportunities for Chiropractors
Does Your Practice Need An Adjustment?
The power to increase revenue is in your hands.
Are you losing revenue by referring your patients to other businesses for the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) in your patient care plans?
As a DC, you likely have patients who could benefit from DME products such as:
- Custom Fit Braces OR02
- TENS Units DM22
- CPM Devices DM03
- Traction Equipment DM21
- Neurostimulators PD04
By credentialing your practice, you can provide DME to your chiropractic patients—and put the revenue in your own pocket—with CMS-Deemed Accreditation and Orthotic Fitter Certification from BOC.
About BOC
Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) accredits businesses that provide DME, allowing them to bill third-party payors, including CMS. BOC offers certifications for orthotic fitters.

Employ A Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF)
As of January 1, 2024, the end of competitive bidding will allow you to sell off-the-shelf braces without requiring a COF on staff. The COF is no longer a requirement for accreditation.
Should you want to provide patients with custom-fit orthotic braces, consider becoming a COF or having a member of your staff become certified. Applicants must meet the prerequisite entry-level education and 1000 clinical hours, before applying to take the exam*. The courses and exam can be taken online.
