Claudia Zacharias
Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE
President & CEO

Claudia joined the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) as President & CEO in August 2009. Since then, she has established clear pathways for BOC’s continual growth and success and developed relationships with key contacts in the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) fields. Claudia leads the implementation of the Board of Directors’ vision and strategy and is fully committed to seeing BOC continue to grow and prosper. She provides guidance to her staff on daily operations and helps develop and implement plans for future goals. Claudia enjoys communicating directly with certificants, suppliers, and others, and meeting new people at industry events.

Claudia brings more than 20 years of non-profit management experience to the position, most recently at the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the world's largest and most prestigious board-credentialing organization for the field of nursing. During her four years with ANCC, Claudia led the development of a $25 million annual operating budget and rolling three-year capital budget. She also developed business plans, led a rebranding initiative, and oversaw the marketing and customer service departments.

Before accepting the ANCC position, Claudia served as vice president of operations for Leadership Maryland, a highly respected non-profit that delivers educational programs to senior executives from diverse fields. Her background also includes six years as director of membership and communications with the U.S. Naval Institute.

In 2008, Claudia earned the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) highest designation, Certified Association Executive (CAE), which is awarded to individuals who have achieved significant results in the association industry. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Hood College and her MBA from Mount St. Mary’s University.

Judi Knott

Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer

Judi leads the strategic planning and execution of BOC’s marketing and corporate communications programs. Her marketing efforts focus on raising brand awareness and highlighting BOC’s competitive advantages to ensure the organization remains top of mind as the blue-ribbon standard for certification and accreditation. She also oversees BOC’s award-winning Business Development team.

Judi has more than 26 years of marketing experience, most recently serving as vice president of participant communications and education for Empower Retirement, after a significant 16-year career in marketing and communications at T. Rowe Price in Baltimore.

Earlier in her career, Judi worked as a Marketing Director at several healthcare organizations in Baltimore, including Maryland General Hospital, LifeBridge Health System, and Johns Hopkins Health System. Judi holds both an M.A. and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.

Matt is responsible for leading the direction, strategy, policies, and day-to-day operations of BOC’s accreditation and certification programs. With nearly a decade of experience in the O&P field, most recently serving as Director of Orthotic Operations for a chain of more than 20 O&P clinics, Matt is focused on growth of the credentialing programs and ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service. He holds an MBA in healthcare from Florida International University, a graduate degree in O&P from University of Hartford, and post graduate certification from the International School of Pedorthics.

Wendy Miller, Special Assistant to CEO

Special Assistant to CEO

Through a combination of project management, research, and administrative activity, Wendy supports the CEO by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing other administrative functions. Wendy also serves as a BOC "brand ambassador" and partners with the CEO to ensure smooth-running governance-related activities.

Prior to joining the BOC staff, Wendy garnered more than 20 years’ experience in the DMEPOS field. As a certified and licensed Orthotist, Wendy brings a practitioner’s perspective to her role. She served on the BOC Board of Directors for six years and played key roles in the development of the Orthotic Fitter (COF) and Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) certifications.
