About the Award
The Jim Newberry Award for Extraordinary Service to BOC recognizes outstanding individuals who perform extraordinary service to BOC and live out the superior example modeled by former practitioner, and BOC board member, James Newberry, Jr., BOCP, BOCO, BOCPD. Winners may include—but are not limited to—former board members, test development volunteers, vendors or other business partners, BOC certificants, personnel from BOC-accredited facilities, and consultants.

Key Dates and Award Process
- The nomination period opens on JULY 15, 2026. Self-nominations will not be considered.
- The nomination period closes on AUGUST 5, 2026.
- The application period for eligible nominees begins when BOC contacts the nominee and asks them to complete the application form.
- The application deadline for the nominee to submit the requested information is AUGUST 31, 2026.
- The winner will be announced in OCTOBER 2026.
