The work that BOC certificants do is important and worthy of recognition. The BOC Board of Directors has created "Emeritus status" for inactive BOC certificants in good standing who are no longer practicing in the O&P field and have been certified with BOC for a minimum of fifteen continuous years. Candidates for Emeritus status may be on the verge of retirement, already retired, or currently practicing in other fields.
Candidates may be self-nominated or nominated by another BOC certificant. If you are interested in nominating another BOC certificant, please let the nominee know before sending in the Emeritus status nomination.
If you would like to obtain Emeritus status for yourself, please click here to email your nomination to the Credentialing Manager.
If you would like to nominate another BOC certificant (past or present) for Emeritus status, please click here to email your nomination to the Credentialing Manager.
Once a nomination is received and verified by the Credentialing Manager and staff, the Emeritus elect will receive a special Emeritus certificate, an Emeritus pin, and a letter from BOC’s President & CEO. The individual also will be listed as an Emeritus certificant on our website. Emeritus certificants do not pay renewal fees.
Note: Emeritus status is granted only to those qualified former BOC certificants who have relinquished all BOC certifications and who are no longer practicing in the O&P field. Emeritus status is not awarded in lieu of a BOC certification and Emeritus status should not be construed as certification for continued practice as an O&P practitioner. An Emeritus certificant who wishes to return to active status must follow the normal procedures for reinstatement in BOC's Recertification Policy under "Retired status."
"My relationship with BOC started back in 1985. Since then, my BOC certification has opened avenues to the best training and opportunities in the industry and beyond. As BOC has grown, so have I. Thanks BOC!"
Theresa McLeod, COF, CMF
"I really appreciate what you guys do and have done for the O&P field over the last several years. I am very privileged to be a part of the group and look forward to working in and with this field and association."
